YES THAT'S THE BOOK FOR ME!!!
I recently purchased a new Bible. I love a new Bible and especially this one. It is WIDE MARGIN which is excellent for note taking and journalling. I love to write notes or date references or explanations next to verses. I had been wanting a wide margin bible for a long time. Over the past few weeks, I've been working in my new Bible and getting some notes in. There is also a section to index additional notes you wish to take down.
Myself and 2 of my girlfriends have committed to reading/studying the book of James the month of August. So my next favorite new purchase is this:
I had no idea I would like to read a commentary as much as John MacArthur's commentary on James. I told Bryan I could read this like I would a fiction book. It is not boring at all. And, it is completely fascinating and enlightening. I would recommend his commentary to anyone. Gaining knowledge into God's wonderful word is so exciting to me. I'm so grateful for this opportunity in my life where I can learn His word and I hope I can make good use of my time in study. Bryan and I hope to have the whole set of commentaries from John MacArthur.I had debated on buying a MacArthur study bible, but after getting my wide margin and using the commentary, plus listening to sermons from here, I've just about turned my new bible into the MacArthur study bible!!
My last two Bible study tools:
I love to write in blue ink in my Bible and this pen does not bleed through the pages. The highlighter is almost like a crayon and doesn't bleed through either.
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12
What are some of the things you do in your Bible study?
Share with me some of the times you have experienced God's word come alive in your life.

I love the wide margin, Julie.
I didn't even know they made those. I haven't shopped for a Bible for a longggggggg time. Mine is good and worn it ~~ love it!!!
Have a Blessed weekend,
Dawn
I was always taught growing up not to write in my Bible. It was God's word. However, that all changed soon after Wayne and I were married when another girl in our Sunday School class talked about receiving her grandmother's Bible after her death. She was brought to tears recalling all the notes and things that her Grandmother had written in the margin of her Bible. She said it was her most prized possession. That was all I needed to hear! I write in my Bible ALL THE TIME and I have several, too!
I've missed you!
I usually don't write in my Bible but I then have the problem of notes falling out of it all the time. Maybe I should get a wide margin Bible so I can write in it.
You have given me a great idea.
Ooo.. I just love new study "equipment". That's a cool Bible. I am not familar with this commentary. I've seen it but have yet to use it. I'll take a closer look next time. I'm wanting to get the New American Commentary on disc. I am short on library space so the disc this would solve problem.
Happy studing!
I have a wide margin Bible and I LOVE it! I journal short prayers in it, notes from sermons or devotionals, etc. I have notes all over the place and I can remember where certain verses are by what I have written on the pages!
Enjoy your time in the Word!
I love your new Bible. I, like you, make notes in mine and hi-light. I have also began a journal where I can write more in-depth information. My Bible study group on Sunday nights just began the book of James. So interesting!
