Guilty As Charged

For about 2-3 months now we have had major disciplinary issues with our beagle, Lilly Belle. Due to her over hyperness and destructive tendencies she quickly became an outside dog when she was a puppy. We started having almost daily episodes of her trying to get out and visit the neighbors. Remember, she cut herself when she tried to get out about a month ago and we had to take her to the vet. Bryan would patch the fence and we decided to leave them in the dog run when we are not at home and let them out when we are at home and put them back in at night. Bryan just needed to buy some time until he could set something up to stop her from digging under the fence (enter the electric fence wire. Please don't turn us into the animal society. We love our precious dogs and the voltage is not high!!).

I let them out last Saturday when I got back from visiting my grandmother. They (we have 2 dogs) had been out in the big yard for about 10 minutes and then I said to myself...."Self, you should go check on Lilly." I did and she was gone!!!! This is what I found.......

Luckily and thankfully, she was just in the neighbors backyard and I was able to get her out. She spent some time in doggy jail......

We also loved majorly on our other dog, Layla, in front of Lilly. Lilly Belle was about to go bazurk because she wasn't getting any attention.

Bryan has "wired" the fence now and we have not had any problems!!

Most people give a carpet allowance when they sell a house. We will have to have a fence allowance!! Our fence looks like patchwork now!!!

We had a boxer that would not stay in the yard and the only way to keep her in was the electric fence. Oh and her name was Lilly also!

That is a cute dog. We are debating on getting a dog. This makes me think NO! :)

Oh my goodness! That is too funny! (Probably not as funny for you!) She is a smart little thing. I hope the wire helps.

Oh my, your doggie is so cute, although very mischeivious. ;) Sometimes they are too smart for their own good. Have a great weekend!

What a cute dog Lilly is! I used to have a beagle and we always had this problem with him, too!

What a cute little dog. We used to have a Brittany Spaniel that we could not keep in the yard. She JUMPED the fence all the time. She spent alot of time in "doggy jail", too.

I hope the wire helps!

We have a beagle also that does the exact same thing. Those beagles are stubborn dogs! Our fence is a disaster too. Great to now know that voltage works.

We used to have beagles. The beagles would howl and bark so loud. Then we got a brittany spaniel. She drove me absolutely crazy.
Hubby worked out of town a lot at the time and that dog would jump the fence and run away all the time. One time I was very pregnant and she got caught on the fence and I was out there trying to free her.

Finally a few years later we got the sweetest little house dog. She was half cocker spaniel and half lhasa apso. She lived to be almost 16.

You gotta love 'em even if there are a pain at times. :)

Uh-oh!! We have a little escape artist too, and it is so frustrating when they get out. I'm glad that Bryan got the fence working where hopefully she will stay put now!

Dogs are so sweet but they definitely have a personality of their own :)!

Dogs can be SUCH a pain sometimes....but then again, they are so sweet! everytime I get so frustrated with mine, then they snuggle up with me or something that just makes me realize I couldn't live without them, no matter how much trouble they are!

I have the exact same problem with our Beagle- Baylee. She will not stay in the stinkin' yard. We have to put her on a chain now. I hate it but I don't want her to get out and get run over. She's a complete mess but we love her.
