During our Texas trip, Bryan and I really wanted to set aside some time for just the 2 of us. We hadn't had a chance to really do much together for the past several months and we wanted to slip away and enjoy the completion of his Master's degree and then the completion of the huge lists of house projects we had finished. He has really been working hard!!! So we decided to get a hotel room for Saturday night. Our goal was to stay somewhere we normally wouldn't stay at. We are not too particular on hotel rooms. We like them clean, comfortable, and affordable. But on this particular night, we were willing to go a little out there. Bryan got online and found absolutely the coolest hotel I have stayed at thus far:
It was very contemporary with a NY Loft Style. The walls were solid cement!! Bryan was amazed and even analyzed how they could build such a hotel (it was the engineer in him coming out!!). It was as if he and I were the hillbillies coming to Beverly Hills!!! You could definitely tell he and I do not get out much in swanky places!!!
They had the coolest chairs hanging from the ceiling.
When we splurge on a hotel, we try to get a king size bed since we have a queen at home. I have to tell you, the bed was amazing!!! It truly was the most comfortable bed I have EVER slept in, including my own at home!!! It made us start talking about buying a new mattress. I slept so well!!
Bryan has been holding out for a flat screen HD TV so of course, he was pumped to have this in our room too:
Even the pool area seemed contemporary.
We woke up late Sunday morning, got dressed, and then sat down and listened to a message from one of our favorite preachers that Bryan had on his iPod....Michael Statton with FBC, Mustang, OK. He is a wonderful preacher! The message we listened to was taken from the Sermon on the Mount and discussed being the Salt of the earth.
What's another day on a mini vacation with yet even more food!!!
Bryan would go into convulsions every time we passed a Dairy Queen, so we had our lunch Sunday at one and he finally got his ice cream cone!!
We did some shopping at Stonebriar Centre in Frisco and eventually made it over to Allen Premium Outlet Malls.
The icing on the cake Sunday was eating at our favorite seafood restaurant:
Scrumptious!!!!!

Sounds perfect! That hotel was a good choice for something different. We always enjoy a king size bed on vacation, too.
Okay, So I think I'm blending comments on these posts, sorry. I read both and am now commenting, so I think I'm overlapping =)
I have never been to that seafood restaurant. I really can't eat seafood (allergic to shellfish), but hubs LOVES seafood, so if we ever get out and about we need to try this one, it looks delish!!!
Have a Blessed evening,
Dawn
Goodness, y'all have been busy with lots of exciting things going on! I love the pics of your getaway...that hotel does look very cool. So glad y'all had a great time!
If I ever get to texas I totally want to stay here! how fun and what great pictures you shared! :)
I am finally able to catch up on all of my blogging buddies :)!
It sounds like you had the best time in Texas. I am so excited that you and Bryan got some time to yourself to just celebrate life!
that hotel is so cool! what are you standing in front of in that picture of the bed? it looks like a projection screen...
mmm... dairy queen! I know you don't have any of those in OKC because of Braum's. I see many trips to TX in my future for some DQ!
Oh my gosh....what a neat hotel and what wonderful eating choices!!! I agree with Bryan about those Dairy Queen dipped cones. I never see DQ's in Oklahoma anymore. And Pappadeaux......Yum!!!
I'm so thankful you and Bryan were able to get away and have a few days of vacation and relaxation.
You have a wonderful, blessed family. It's so neat to see a great-grandbaby crawling around that same furniture that the others through the years have crawled under. So precious!
Thank you for faithfully praying for our youth last week while we were at camp. That is precious that you put the sticky note to remind you. It was great.
Several gave their lives to Christ and several rededicated their lives. Please keep praying for them.
Love to you!
Valerie
