Joe the Plumber !!

Remember Joe the Plumber from the election?
I had no idea I was married to my very own Joe the Plumber! My family and I went together and bought my Granny a new dishwasher for Christmas. Somehow Bryan and I became the people to shop for the dishwasher and he became the installer! I was his assistant and his dad was the supervisor. Granny was a combination of both!!

The old dishwasher was a bear to get out. Granny brought in this gigantic crowbar and it came in handy!I'm not sure my father-in-law appreciates his bottom being posted on the Internet. But he doesn't read my blog so we are safe (side note: They bought a laptop on Friday. Hopefully soon they will have internet and I can blog when I'm in Ada!!). I just had to post this picture to prove I did help and it was a 3 person effort. The dishwasher was quite a project for Bryan. They had to redo some plumbing under the sink because Granny's house is getting older. Every time I would go back into the kitchen, I would see Bryan on the floor in a different angle. He was working very hard and I really appreciate him giving up his hunting time to get this project done.

We ran the new dishwasher late Friday evening and NOTHING happened. Notta. Zilch. WE HAD A LEMON. So, on Saturday morning, we took the dishwasher back, went to a local appliance store and bought a completely different one. Bryan yet again on the floor, installing dishwasher numero 2.

This one worked!!! Hallelujah!!! Now we know if Bryan and I remodel our kitchen, he can install a new dishwasher for me!!!

Some randomness: It has been cold and a little windy here today. I made chili for supper tonight and I've been covered up in bed reading blogs and posting. I came down with a sore throat and cold late Saturday and I think I'm on the mend today. Yes, it was tragic....I was sick during the big Bedlam game. We stayed and watched the game with Bryan's parents and drove home LATE Saturday night. Now our Sooners just have to make it through and win this Saturday!

How nice of Bryan!

Man, I bet y'all were upset that the new one didn't work and you had to take it back!

I'm glad to hear that you and Bryan are going to Branson. We
had such a good time. They were having great sales at both of the outlet malls we went to.
And I LOVE the Landing!

You'll enjoy. It's beautiful...very festive.

I wish Dino was still going to be there. The 4th is the last show, but it was amazing.

P.S. Yay Sooners!!!
My son & my sister were both texting me the score during the Dino show. ;)

I think I would have been a nervous wreck watching it.

I love the dishwasher story! What a bummer after all that hard work that the first one didn't work though! Your husband seems to be such a hard worker and always doing something handy! :)
I'm glad ya'll had a great Thanksgiving! :)

Wow! I'm so impressed that you guys did that, not only once, but twice! I'm sure your Granny was so appreciative!

That is terrible that the first dishwasher did not work! At least you have a good handyman that did not mind pulling it out and installing a new one!

Oh my stars. How annoying!! So nice of Bryan to persevere and get the new in and running.

Isn't it nice to have a handy husband? Mine fixes just about everything from cars to the house, it is really nice and a money saver.

Hope you are feeling better!!!

Have a Blessed evening,
Dawn

My husband and I installed a new dishwasher at our last house and it was a JOB! I cannot imagine having to do it twice! I know your Granny must have been so appreciative!

Sorry to hear you are sick. I hope you feel much better soon!

Bryan is just the little-fix-er-upper isn't he? That can be a good thing. Hopefully, if the need arises, it will safe you some money in the future.
